02 Our centre
Purpose-built in Istanbul.
Located at Biruni Teknopark, BCT has completed its purpose-built cell and gene therapy centre, designed to support GMP manufacturing. The established facility brings together infrastructure for technology transfer and local manufacturing alongside a broad clinical collaboration model for future programmes.

The science
How anbal-cel is designed.
Anbal-cel uses an autologous CAR-T approach incorporating the OVIS platform, which is designed to address inhibitory signalling in T cells.
Patient-derived CAR-T
Anbal-cel is an autologous therapy: a patient’s T cells are engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor designed to recognise CD19 on B cells.
PD-1 and TIGIT modulation
The OVIS cassette enables CAR expression while downregulating the immune checkpoint receptors PD-1 and TIGIT. The design aims to limit checkpoint-associated T-cell exhaustion and support T-cell expansion.
